Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid's meeting Cui Wei. with Chinese Ambassador
Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received on Monday, 11 August 2025, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, at Baghdad Palace for talks aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
Ambassador Cui presented a personal letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping, who extended warm congratulations to President Rashid on his birthday. In his message, President Xi conveyed his best wishes and reaffirmed China’s commitment to advancing the strategic partnership with Iraq, expressing readiness to work jointly to broaden cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
President Rashid emphasised the importance of deepening collaboration across a range of fields, highlighting that such efforts would strengthen the longstanding friendship between Iraq and China and bring tangible advantages to both peoples.
“Our relations with China are founded on shared interests. Strengthening cooperation in vital sectors will elevate our partnership to new heights,” the President stated.
Ambassador Cui expressed his appreciation for President Rashid’s dedication to nurturing Iraq–China relations and reaffirmed China’s determination to promote constructive engagement across all areas.
