Iraqi President Calls for Unified Global Action to End Ongoing War

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received on Monday, 16 June 2025, Egypt’s Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Samir, at Al-Salam Palace.
According to an official statement from the Iraqi Presidency, President Rashid reaffirmed the strength of Iraqi-Egyptian relations and emphasised the importance of further deepening bilateral cooperation to advance the shared interests of both nations. He highlighted the strategic significance of this partnership in promoting regional stability and stressed the need for continued coordination on issues of mutual concern.
Addressing the wider regional context, President Rashid called for unified international action to bring an end to the ongoing conflict, warning that its continuation poses serious risks to regional security, stability, and the future of its peoples. He urged the international community to prioritise dialogue and pursue political solutions to interstate disputes in a manner that safeguards both regional and global peace.
Ambassador Samir reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Iraq across multiple sectors. He commended President Rashid’s leadership and his tireless efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
