On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the PUK, acknowledging its pivotal role in Iraq’s development and regional stability.
In a formal message addressed to the Leadership Council of the PUK, the Chinese Communist Party praised the progress the party has achieved under the leadership of President Bafel Jalal Talabani. The message expressed China’s sincere wishes for continued success and advancement of the PUK in the economic and social growth of both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
“The Communist Party of China conveys its warm congratulations to your esteemed party,” the statement read. “We wish your party continued growth and advancement under the leadership of President Bafel Talabani, as it maintains its positive contribution to the economic and social development of Iraq as a whole, and the Kurdistan Region in particular.”
The Chinese Communist Party also reiterated its commitment to strengthening ties with the PUK and highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation between the two parties. Particular emphasis was placed on the exchange of governance and administrative experience — a channel through which both sides aim to share insights and strategies to enhance political leadership and public service delivery.
“The Communist Party of China places high importance on fostering friendly relations with the PUK and is eager to deepen the exchange of experience in governance and administration with your party,” the statement added. “We believe this will support the development of the strategic partnership between China and Iraq, to the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.”
