Iraqi President, Prime Minister Discuss Outcomes of Baghdad Summit

On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani at the Baghdad Palace to discuss the key outcomes of the 34th Arab Summit, recently held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The meeting focused on the decisions and recommendations issued during the summit, with both leaders underscoring the importance of their effective implementation in order to fulfil the summit's goals and contribute to enhancing security and stability across the region.
President Rashid and Prime Minister Sudani also acknowledged the efforts of all parties involved in ensuring the summit's success, stressing the need for continued commitment to strengthen Iraq’s role in the region. They highlighted the importance of unifying the Arab stance on key regional and global issues, thereby reinforcing the foundations of peace at both regional and international levels.
The discussion extended to the latest regional and international developments, with a review of Iraq’s positions and contributions to ongoing issues. The meeting also addressed the internal situation, reaffirming the need to preserve national stability and to prioritise the development of public services and infrastructure to meet the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
