CTG Dismantles ISIS Hideout in Kirkuk Governorate

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism (CTG) announced on Thursday the dismantling of an ISIS terrorist hideout in Kirkuk and the arrest of several wanted individuals.

In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the CTG stated: “In coordination with the Intelligence and Security Directorate of the Iraqi Ministry of Defence and the Iraqi Army Infantry Forces, the General Directorate of CTG conducted a series of security operations targeting ISIS remnants and sleeper cells in Kirkuk.” 

The statement added: “These operations led to the capture of terrorists who had provided direct support to elements of the so-called Islamic State, and legal proceedings were promptly initiated against them.” It further noted that “hideouts used by these terrorist groups were identified and swiftly destroyed.”
