Deputy PM: New Phase of KRG Cabinet Talks Begin

Deputy PM Meets US CG in Erbil.

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Steve Bitner, the US Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, on Tuesday, 29 April 2025.

Their discussions focused on the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Referring to the recent meeting between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Qubad Talabani stated, "A new phase of negotiations has begun, and we will continue our talks until a final agreement is reached."

The Deputy PM underlined the objective of establishing a strong, unified, and service-oriented government, expressing his hope that the new cabinet would be in place ahead of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.
