Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed Mohammed al-Halbousi, leader of Iraq's Progress (Taqadum) Alliance, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

During their meeting, the two leaders emphasised the importance of fostering a positive and conducive environment for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.

Addressing the ongoing disputes between Erbil and Baghdad, President Bafel and Halbousi underscored the necessity of continued dialogue based on the principles of the constitution, with the aim of uniting efforts to better serve the citizens.

The broader situation in the Middle East was also discussed, with both sides highlighting the critical need for political understanding and cooperation among all parties to safeguard the country from escalating tensions.
