China Celebrates Chinese Language Day in Sulaymaniyah

The Chinese Language Day celebrations.
The University of Sulaymaniyah celebrated Chinese Language Day for the first time, where Chinese cuisine, performances, and a variety of cultural activities were demonstrated at the event.
The Chinese Studies Centre at the University of Sulaymaniyah organised an event on Sunday, 20 April 2025, to mark "International Chinese Language Day." The celebration included numerous artistic, cultural, and linguistic activities.
In his speech, a representative of the People's Republic of China Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region highlighted the value of the language and conveyed his joy at hosting this event at the University of Sulaymaniyah for the first time.
The event took place in the University of Sulaymaniyah's conference hall in collaboration with the University of Salahaddin's Chinese Language Department. Several diplomats, professors, researchers, academics, journalists, and a representative of the Chinese Consulate attended the event.
Chinese and Kurdish dance and music performances, as well as "Wudang Kung Fu" and "Shaolin Kung Fu" performances, were among the artistic and cultural events that took place. Chinese food was offered as well.
