A scientific conference on renewable energy kicked off in Sulaymaniyah on Sunday, 20 April 2025, and will continue for two days, with the aim of the conference being to discuss ways to reduce harmful energy.
The 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy is held at the Grand Millennium Hotel in the presence of local and foreign experts. The event is organised by Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University in partnership with Northern Technical University, Putra University of Malaysia, and Technical College of Kirkuk's Fuel and Energy Department.
The conference featured one hundred and twenty-two papers on renewable energy, its challenges, and solutions.
The conference plans to develop new techniques and systems for using renewable energy in the service of mankind, which is significant and necessary given the current global climate changes.
Since 2001, new energy has accounted for 14% of global energy consumption, and the Kurdistan Region and Iraq have a favourable environment for its usage, particularly solar energy.
