Iraqi President Attends Easter Mass

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid attended Easter Mass at Baghdad's Our Lady of Salvation Church, where he congratulated the Christian community and wished them peace, prosperity, and love, the Iraqi Presidency reported on Saturday, 20 April 2025.

"In his remarks, the President reiterated the significance of peaceful coexistence," the Presidency said in a statement. He also emphasised g Iraq's constitutional commitment to equality, fairness, and the protection of all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

According to the statement, Archbishop Mar Ephrem Yousif Abba praised President Rashid's commitment to maintaining the constitution and supporting Iraq's varied groups, stating that such efforts promote national unity and social cohesion.

Among those in attendance, as per the statement, were Rayan Al-Kildani, Secretary-General of the Babylon Movement, and Evan Faeq Jabro, Minister of Migration and Displacement.
