PUK Politburo: Yazidis Represent an Integral Part of Kurdistan

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has sent a congratulatory message to mark the Yazidi New Year. 

The following is the message of the Politburo:

On the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Yazidi brothers and sisters in Kurdistan, Iraq, and across the world, wishing them a celebration filled with happiness and joy.

The Yazidis represent a deeply respected and integral part of Kurdistan’s heritage, both in ancient times and in the modern era, and they have endured many hardships and atrocities.

On this special day, we reaffirm that it is the responsibility of the political parties, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the federal government to take meaningful steps to restore a life of dignity and honour for the Yazidis in Shingal and surrounding areas—ensuring lasting stability and protecting them from future harm or aggression.
