PUK Spokesperson, UNAMI Delegation Discuss Several Matters of Mutual Interest

Saadi Ahmed Pire, a member of the Political Bureau and official Spokesperson of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a delegation from UNAMI, led by Francesc Revuelto-Lanao, Head of UNAMI’s Regional Office in Erbil, and Munyaradzi Motsi, Head of UNAMI’s Political Affairs Department in the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides discussed the political, economic, and military situation in Iraq, Kurdistan, and the wider region, with a particular focus on the steps to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and preparations for the Iraqi parliamentary elections that is scheduled to take place on November this year. They also addressed the latest political developments in Syria.
