The 61st Munich Security Conference commences this evening, Friday, 14 February 2025, in the German city of Munich and will run for three days. It is anticipated that 60 heads of state and government will attend this leading global forum on security policy.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will inaugurate the 61st Munich International Security Conference this evening, Saturday, delivering an assessment of the current foreign and security policy landscape in his opening remarks. Among today’s speakers will also be European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The conference will address a range of crucial topics.

During his participation in the Munich Security Conference 2025, Bafel Jalal Talabani is set to engage in a series of political and diplomatic meetings with officials and leaders from various states, organisations, and security, political, and economic institutions.
Munich Security Conference 2025 Agenda
According to PUKMEDIA’s coverage of the conference agenda, the main programme will commence on the first day with discussions on global security challenges, including global governance, democratic resilience, and climate security.
On the second day, the agenda will focus on the state of the international system, regional conflicts and crises, and the future of the transatlantic partnership.
On the third and final day, discussions will centre on Europe’s role in global affairs.
In addition to the main programme organised by the Munich Security Conference, there will be approximately 200 official side events, along with dozens of public events.
At the conclusion of the conference, Jens Stoltenberg will succeed Christoph Heusgen as the new President of the Munich Security Conference.
Throughout the event, hundreds of decision-makers and thought leaders from around the world will deliberate on security policy challenges under the leadership of Ambassador Christoph Heusgen, the conference chairman.
