Kurdistan’s Vice President Meets Colonel Antonello Andreotola, Commander of the Italian Coalition Fo

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, welcomed Colonel Antonello Andreotola, Commander of the Italian Coalition Forces, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the surrounding region, relations between Italy and the Kurdistan Region, Peshmerga training, the ongoing reform process and reunification of the Peshmerga, the ISIS threat, as well as preserving peace and stability in Iraq and the surrounding region.

During the meeting, the Vice President commended the role and impact of the Italian forces within the Global Coalition against ISIS. He reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s support and coordination with coalition forces, alongside progress in Peshmerga reform and reunification efforts.

The visiting delegation emphasised the importance of continuing relations between Italy, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. They affirmed their commitment to providing military support to the Peshmerga and highlighted the significance of the reform process in the Kurdistan Region.
