The Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced its agreements with major Polish companies in the fields of investment and business. The head of the chamber stated, "The representative of the Patriotic Union bloc was the first to finalise these contracts, which will benefit the entire region."

Nawzad Ghafour, head of the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, confirmed during a press conference on Wednesday, 15th January 2025, that several Polish companies had been contracted to collaborate and meet local needs. These agreements were facilitated through the Patriotic Union bloc in the House of Representatives.

He added, "The companies that signed contracts with the Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry specialise in investing in agricultural machinery and equipment, food, meat, sonar machines, and the acquisition of clean energy. They are very eager to carry out investments in Sulaymaniyah Governorate and the Kurdistan Region."

Gharib Ahmed, a member of the Patriotic Union parliamentary bloc who was part of the delegation that visited Poland, told PUKMEDIA, the official website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, "The companies involved are major, well-known entities in Poland. The Kurdistan Region can engage directly with these companies to complete the investments, which will benefit the region."

He further explained that "with the implementation of these contracts, food, various types of meat, machinery, and agricultural supplies will be available in the region’s markets at more affordable prices, preventing any monopolies from certain countries on these products."

Earlier, a delegation from the Iraqi Council of Representatives visited Poland to strengthen relations and enhance the industrial, agricultural, and trade sectors between the two countries, with the visit of the Polish companies being part of this initiative.
