On the occasion of the birthday of the Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), numerous messages of congratulations have been sent to Christian brothers and sisters around the world, especially those in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
PUK Politburo Sends Warm Congratulations on Christmas
The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) wishes prosperity for Christians in Kurdistan and around the world, emphasising the importance of strengthening the spirit of coexistence, safeguarding rights, and ensuring freedom and peace for all communities in the Region.
The following is PUK Politburo's full message:
The Political Bureau warmly congratulates all Christian brothers and sisters in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). Wishing everyone a joyful celebration and a pleasant day.
Christians have been an ancient community in this land, and throughout history, they have lived in harmony with Muslims and other religious groups. For this reason, the PUK has consistently emphasised the importance of strengthening the spirit of coexistence, safeguarding rights, and ensuring freedom and peace for Christians and all communities in the Kurdistan Region.

Iraqi President Congratulates Christians on Christmas
The President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, sent a message via his account on the X platform to mark Christmas and the New Year, in which he highlighted strengthening security and social cohesion
The message reads as follows:
Happy Christmas Eve and a joyful New Year to Iraqis and Christians worldwide!
As we celebrate this season of hope and renewal, we extend our warmest wishes for a prosperous, happy, and safe Christmas and New Year.
Let us come together to strengthen security, foster stability and promote social cohesion in our beloved country. Together, we can build a brighter future for all and stand united in our efforts to bring peace, defuse tensions, and overcome challenges.
May this season inspire unity, harmony, and lasting progress for our people.
Iraqi First Lady Wishes Christians a Prosperous Year
The Iraqi First Lady, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, visited the Mar Yousif Church in Sulaymaniyah, extending her wishes for peace and tranquility to Christians and a joyful New Year to the world.
During a press conference, she said: "I wish my Christian brothers and sisters a prosperous and happy year. I hope everyone can live in peace, especially the Christians who are under pressure in certain countries."
She continued: "I hope the New Year brings happiness and marks the end of killing and torture worldwide."
DPM Talabani Stresses the Importance of Coexistence
Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, sent a message on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year, in which he highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence and securing the rights of all communities.
The message reads as follows:
"I extend my Christmas greetings to all Christians in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world, wishing that the festive season brings happiness and stability to everyone.
On this occasion, we stress the importance of strengthening the spirit of peaceful coexistence among all communities in Kurdistan and Iraq. The painful experience of years of instability in the area underscores that security, stability, and our future are all intertwined with peaceful coexistence and the protection of the rights of all communities.
