Swiss Parliament Recognises ISIS Crimes Against Yazidis as Genocide

The Swiss Parliament officially recognised the crimes committed by the ISIS terrorist organisation against the Yazidis in Shingal in 2014 as genocide. 

The decision was made during Tuesday's session, following a recommendation from the Foreign Policy Committee. The resolution passed with 105 votes in favour, 61 against, and 27 abstentions. 

Similar recognitions of ISIS actions as genocide have been made by several countries, including the UK, Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands, as well as by the European Parliament, United Nations bodies, and other international institutions.
