The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has issued a message on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, emphasising that the PUK, as a social democratic party dedicated to addressing the issues of all societal segments, staunchly advocates for women's rights, equality, and the eradication of inequalities and prejudices.
The PUK Politburo's message states:
November 25 is designated as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The United Nations has designated this day to mark the principles of freedom, equality, and rejecting violations of women's rights. Women in Kurdistan use this day as an opportunity for their struggle against oppression, injustice, discrimination, and violence, articulating their demands and message of equality.
The PUK, as a social democratic party dedicated to addressing the issues of all societal segments, staunchly advocates for women's struggle, equality, and the eradication of inequalities and prejudices. It will persist in this objective, which is also the rightful course of leader and President Mam Jalal, to ensure that women can live freely in a developed, equitable, and just society.
