Kurdistan Census Director: Census Progressing Smoothly in the Region

The Executive Director of the General Population and Housing Census in the Kurdistan Region announced that the census process is progressing as planned, and once this stage concludes, work will continue into the next phase.
Mahmoud Othman, the Executive Director of the General Population and Housing Census in the Kurdistan Region, stated in an interview with PUKMEDIA: "The census process in the Region is moving forward smoothly, with citizens responding well to the census teams. This stage will conclude precisely at midnight tomorrow, Thursday."
He continued, "Once this stage ends, the census teams will take a five-day break, after which a new phase will begin. During this phase, families will be asked questions regarding their assets, and social, economic, financial, and other conditions. This phase will run from 27 November 2024 to 17 December 2024, and will require at least one person from each household to be present to answer the questions."
The general population and housing census in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region began today, Wednesday, and to ensure the smooth completion of this process, a curfew has been imposed across both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region for two days.
