Kurdistan Region Census

The Kurdistan Region Statistics Office announced that the participation and registration rate in the census process across the Region has reached 89%.

Sirwan Mohammed, Head of the Kurdistan Region Statistics Office, confirmed during a press conference, followed by PUKMEDIA, that "the purpose of imposing the curfew is to register the names and families that were not included in the previous stages of the census. The census process will continue after the two-day curfew period in both the Region and Iraq."

He added, "Approximately 26,000 enumerators are working on the census in the Kurdistan Region, and 89% of families have been registered over the past few days. Once all families are registered, a new phase will begin, which involves visiting homes to complete the next steps of the census, during which questions related to living conditions and economic matters will be asked."
