PUK President Emphasises Commitment to True Partnership in Governance

PUK President's meeting with Iraqi PM at Dabashan.
The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, received Iraqi Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
During the meeting, they discussed political, economic, and security developments, while emphasising continuing coordination and cooperation between all parties in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to resolve issues in line with the Constitution, genuine partnership, and political agreements, particularly concerning salaries and the implementation of the Federal Supreme Court's decisions on the matter.
On the subject of forming the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, both sides highlighted the need for swift formation of a service-oriented government that respects the principle of true partnership, ensures stability, and addresses the demands of all sides.
In this context, President Bafel Jalal Talabani said, "The PUK is committed to establishing a fair government, free from discrimination in service delivery. We aim to be genuine partners in managing our Region and for all parties to work together responsibly to serve our people and strengthen our Region."
The meeting also covered the issue of Iraq's national population census and the completion of crucial national tasks. Both sides stressed the importance of creating shared visions on all issues and maintaining ongoing national dialogue and consultation among all parties to safeguard security and overcome challenges.
