PUK President: Our Primary Goal is Strengthening Kurdistan Region

PUK President's meeting with Spanish Ambassador.

The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, received Alicia Rico Pérez del Pulgar, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, in Erbil.

During the meeting, attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, the Head of the PUK's Relations Bureau, discussions focused on the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, highlighting the importance of adhering to the Constitution and resolving outstanding issues.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani congratulated the Spanish Ambassador on her new role, wishing her success and urging her to be a key player in strengthening bilateral relations. 

He also spoke about the beginning of a new era in politics and governance in the Kurdistan Region, saying: "Our people require services and a guarantee of a decent standard of living, rather than discrimination. Therefore, the next government will be formed with a different vision and a new strategy, with the primary aim of strengthening our Region and serving the citizens."
