PUK Commits to Investigating Election Shortcomings Across Kurdistan

Head of Elections Bureau meets UNAMI delegation in Sulaymaniyah.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is looking into the issues surrounding the elections, with the Head of the Elections Bureau stating that legal action will be pursued wherever there are shortcomings, problems, or violations.

Rizgar Haji Hama, Head of the Elections Bureau, met with Aamir A. Arain, Director of UNAMI Electoral Assistance and UN Principal Electoral Advisor, at the Political Bureau's headquarters in Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting addressed the election process and its associated problems, particularly in the Duhok and Erbil provinces.

"The PUK will investigate the issues and complaints across all of Kurdistan, especially in Erbil and Duhok," Rizgar informed the visiting delegation. "In this regard, any identified shortcomings, problems, or violations will result in legal action being taken before the electoral judiciary," he added.
