President Bafel: Instead of Having Oil Policy, KRG Engages in Oil & Gas Stealing

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), held the seventh and final campaign rally for the PUK's 129 list in front of a crowd of supporters at the PUK's Political Bureau headquarters in Erbil.

"The PUK has returned to its course and has initiated a revolution that has weakened our opponents. This government is steering the country towards a police state. We will put an end to the current police system," President Bafel stated.

He added: "The government has failed to pay salaries to the people for five years. It lacks an oil policy and instead has a policy of stealing oil and gas."

He also conveyed a special message to Masrour Barzani, stating, "I swear to God, I will stop you."

 

We Will End the Police System

President Bafel addressed the audience, stating: "There will be no fraud in this election, and you have the power to change the political balance in the Kurdistan Region. This government is steering the country towards a police state, and we will put an end to the current police system." 

"Due to extortion, traders have left Erbil," he added.

PUK President also said: "Vote for the party that can enhance your lives, and we promise to establish the best government. So, take just 30 minutes to head to the ballot boxes and vote for the PUK, and we will serve you for four years."

In his message, President Bafel stated: "The PUK will safeguard the dignity and security of our nation. Our past victories have not been by chance; we operate with a clear plan and programme. This is why our opponents are fleeing from the PUK and fear us. The PUK has returned to its course and started a revolution that has weakened our enemies."

Regarding the communities, President Bafel stated: "The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is exploiting the communities for its own interests. We want the communities to have the opportunity to represent themselves, as they also own Erbil."

President Bafel also emphasised: "We do not discriminate between the martyrs of Kurdistan, and we recognise that the relatives of KDP martyrs oppose the sale of land; we understand their suffering." He addressed KDP supporters, stating: "To alleviate your concerns, either vote for us or refrain from voting for the KDP."

 

President Bafel: They Are Not Pharaohs

A minority within the KDP does not understand us, and we will eradicate the corruption they are perpetrating. We will teach them that they are human beings, not pharaohs. "The KDP will win votes through intimidation," he stated. He also sent a special message to Masrour Barzani, saying, "I swear to God, I will stop you."

PUK President further said: "The KDP, the Barzanis, and the Barzan sheikhs cannot express their opinions. Barzani and the dictator have become synonyms. We do not respond to wrong with wrong. Is it the Barzanis' moral stance to insult my family and children? Meanwhile, a minority within the KDP is unwilling to align with the party and the people of Kurdistan, instead choosing to side with the insulters."

 

PUK President: I am the Greatest Friend & the Worst Enemy

At the end of his message, President Bafel stated: "Look at how strong the PUK has become while the KDP has been on its knees for three years. A minority is suffocating the KDP, and I am the strongest enemy of authoritarianism."

He also addressed the people of Erbil, saying: "I ask you to accept me as one of you, Bafel Erbiler."

Earlier, President Bafel announced at the List 129 carnival rally in Garmian: "In Erbil, I will respond to those who ask what we will end." At the Badinan rally, he reaffirmed that he would address those questions in Erbil.

PUK President, Bafel Jalal Talabani has held seven major rallies to introduce the candidates of the PUK's 129 list across various provinces and districts. He emphasised: "with the support of the people of the Kurdistan Region, we will put an end to the authoritarian, corrupt, discriminatory, and unjust rule."

PUK President urged the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to make the ballot boxes green on October 20, 2024, and make the PUK the leading force in the Kurdistan Region, because it has been proven in the past that whenever the prime minister's position was held by the PUK, the people were living prosperous.

The sixth term of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections is scheduled to take place on October 20, 2024. The PUK is contesting with PUK List 129 and 172 candidates under the slogans "Correcting the Course of Governance" and "We Will End It."
