PUK Spokesperson Saadi Ahmed Pire.
The Spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) says that the PUK will end self-imposition and authoritarian rule.
PUK Spokesperson Saadi Ahmed Pire said in an interview with GK TV: "The citizens reacted very well to President Bafel's message because he spoke very simply to everyone and everyone understood his message."
"Its fifth congress made the PUK united and made it a different party," he continued, pointing out that "this election is different and no one can vote for someone else and that spread anxiety among certain parties."
"Syrian citizens are hired to distort PUK candidates' posters in Erbil. What is being done against PUK candidates is an organised campaign that is against democracy," he said.
"President Bafel has fulfilled all his previous promises; this time, change is assured. Given President Bafel's presence and his accomplishments, I anticipate favourable votes and seats for the PUK," he added.
Regarding Kirkuk, he stated that "the PUK has been able to make Kirkuk green and appoint a Kurdish governor."
"When the PUK held premiership, it made major changes and launched the fight against corruption," he said, adding: "The PUK seeks to end corruption, authoritarian rule, and self-imposition, as well as to eliminate the suppression of free expression and the concerns of farmers regarding the influx of harmful crops into the country. We will eliminate sources of environmental pollution. The PUK is proud that there are no foreign troops within its borders."
The sixth term of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections is scheduled to take place on October 20, 2024. The PUK is contesting with PUK List 129 and 172 candidates under the slogan of "Correcting the Course of Governance and "We Will End It."
