Kurdistan Region's Vice President meets UK's Ambassador

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, met with Stephen Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq, on Wednesday. 

Both sides deliberated on the UK diplomatic ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They addressed the most recent advancements and the political and security landscape in the region, the process of reform and reorganisation of the Peshmerga, the matter of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections, and the settlement of disputes between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region. 

Both parties emphasised the need of maintaining and enhancing British ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They agreed that the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad should be settled through dialogue and understanding, based on the Constitution to stabilise the political and economic conditions and ensure the well-being of the people.
