Iranian President Arrives in Sulaymaniyah

Presidents of the PUK and Iran meet in Sulaymaniyah

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has officially arrived at Sulaymaniyah International Airport. A high-ranking delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), led by PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani and several Iraqi party and government officials, greeted him.

During his visit, the Iranian President visited President Mam Jalal's grave, placed a wreath, and inscribed a note in the memoir. He expressed his intention to enhance the political, economic, and scientific ties with the Kurdistan Region.
 
Afterward, President Pezeshkian and his accompanying delegation met with a senior PUK delegation headed by President Bafel Jalal Talabani at Dabashan. 

On Wednesday, President Pezeshkian arrived in Baghdad, where he was welcomed by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' al-Sudani and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq. He subsequently met with Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid and engaged in discussions with various Iraqi political party leaders.

Meanwhile, today, Thursday, President Pezeshkian arrived in Erbil and was received by the President of the Kurdistan Region during a formal ceremony. After his visit to Erbil, he is set to proceed to Sulaymaniyah for his scheduled meetings. This visit marks Pezeshkian’s first official foreign trip since taking office.
