DPM Talabani, Italian Ambassador: Elections Must Reflect People's Will

Qubad Talabani,  Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, held a meeting with Maurizio Greganti, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, to address several matters of shared importance.

During the meeting on August 25, 2024, in Erbil, with the presence of Michele Camerota, the Consul General of Italy in the Kurdistan Region, both parties agreed to work together in order to enhance the bilateral relations between Italy and the Kurdistan Region across all domains.

The topic of the upcoming elections for the next term of the Kurdistan Parliament was addressed. The focus was on the importance of conducting transparent and fair elections that accurately reflect the will of the Kurdish people.

During another segment of the meeting, the discussion revolved around the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister articulated his perspectives on resolving the issues to the Italian Ambassador.

Upon the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani bid farewell to Maurizio Greganti as his assignment came to a close and expressed his well wishes for Greganti's future endeavours.
