DPM Talabani Calls on China to Open Vocational Training Programs for Kurdish Students

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Liu Jun, the Consul General of China in the Kurdistan Region. The meeting deliberated on strategies for the implementation of vocational training programs across several domains.
Qubad Talabani expressed gratitude to the Chinese government at the meeting in Erbil on Thursday (August 8, 2024) for their support in enabling learners from Kurdistan Region institutions to engage in vocational training courses and visit China in many different fields.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged China to collaborate in improving and maintaining the vocational training program to enable a greater number of students, particularly those in the fields of trade, agriculture, environment, and tourism, to partake in vocational training courses in the country in the future so that the Kurdistan Region's can benefit from China's rich experience.
The Chinese Consul General highlighted China's willingness to enhance vocational training programs for students in the Kurdistan Region across different domains.
Moreover, They addressed a specific initiative led by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office that aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of Kurdish athletes. As part of this program, several Kurdish athletes, particularly those specialising in martial arts, are currently undergoing training in China.
Furthermore, the plan of the sports department of the Deputy Prime Minister's Office was mentioned, where a group of highly skilled Chinese martial arts trainers would soon be arriving in the Kurdistan Region to establish training programs and organise sports activities.
