DPM Talabani Calls on Netherlands to Support Kurdistan in Youth Development

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with Jaco Beerends, Consul General of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, to address several matters of shared interest.

During the meeting that took place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Erbil, Mr. Talabani expressed his well wishes for the future mission of the Consul General of the Netherlands, marking the end of Mr. Beerends' mission.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the Netherlands' previous support in reforming the Ministry of Peshmerga, as well as in the economy and other sectors. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope for further aid from the Netherlands in the future and hoped for more growth in the bilateral relationship.

During another part of the meeting, the topic of enhancing the capabilities of young entrepreneurs and innovators was deliberated. Both parties agreed that enhancing the capabilities of young entrepreneurs and innovators will positively impact the growth of the economy and the private sector in the Kurdistan Region. Talabani expressed his hope for the Netherlands to provide support to the Kurdistan Region specifically in the area of youth development.
