The Media Board of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) released a statement asserting that the PUK and the Yezidis of Sinjar do not see the media message of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) as relevant and that there is an old adage that states: "Sunlight cannot be blocked by a sieve."
The PUK's Media Board issued a response to a statement made by the KDP on the anniversary of the occupation of Sinjar.
The PUK's response said:
The PUK's Political Bureau's message on the anniversary of the Yazidi genocide in Sinjar echoes the recurring criticism and declarations made by numerous Yazidi individuals, who consistently hold the KDP responsible for the evacuation and surrender of civilians in Sinjar. Consequently, a large number of Yazidi civilians were massacred by ISIS terrorists.
If you want us to, we will not only share the words of the Yazidi people, but also the statements made by numerous Yazidi KDP officials, who loudly declared during the Sinjar tragedy and its aftermath, "the KDP betrayed us." Qasim Shasho, a high-ranking commander in the KDP, spent a whole year on mount Sinjar and boycotted the KDP due to its negligence in defending the Yazidis.
Consequently, we disregard the message conveyed by the KDP media, as do the Yezidis of Sinjar as an ancient adage says: "Sunlight cannot be blocked by a sieve."
