DPM Talabani Urges EU to Support Kurdistan Youth

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, held a meeting on Tuesday with Anders Wiberg, the Head of Mission for the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq, Martyn Warr, the former British Consul General, and Andrew Bizley, the current British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
Talabani's meeting with Wiberg involved a discussion on the most recent political advancements in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as the connections between the Region and the European Union. Wiberg emphasised the significance of coordination in the development of different sectors. He also stated that the European Union is prepared to provide assistance to the governments of the Region and Baghdad.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the significance of enhancing the skills and abilities of youth. Talabani specifically mentioned the Foundation Hub and Foundation Lab initiatives, which aim to support the skills of creative youth and small business owners. He urged the European Union to provide assistance to the Kurdistan Region in order to ensure the success of these upcoming projects.
For his part, Wiberg has shown interest in the Deputy Prime Minister's idea to enhance the capacities of youth and emphasised that the European Union is prepared to support the project's success.
Both parties also agreed that the accomplishment of this project will positively impact the economic well-being of the smaller towns and rural areas.
During the second meeting with the former and current British consuls in the Kurdistan Region, the two parties deliberated about the Region's internal political situation and its relationship with Baghdad.
Talabani mentioned that there are ongoing discussions and initiatives aimed at resolving the issues and establishing a good relationship between the Region and Baghdad. He expressed optimism from both sides, particularly in finding a comprehensive and conclusive resolution to the budget and salary issues.
