Foreign Relations Board & Qatari Consulate
Dara Khaylani, Head of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)'s Foreign Relations Board and member of the party's Leadership Council, and his accompanying delegation were warmly received by Hussein Ali Salih al-Fazala, the Consul General of Qatar in the Kurdistan Region, today, Thursday, in Erbil.
Several topics of shared interest were covered during the meeting, with a focus on growing and enhancing ties—noting that the establishment of the Qatari General Consulate aids in the development of bilateral relations.
Another point Khaylani discussed was that all Iraqi and Kurdish citizens have a right to a robust economy and equitable employment opportunities. "The Kurdistan Region can open the door to investment for Qatari companies in Kurdistan and benefit from the experience of Qatar by making the diversification of income sources the foundation of its economy," he stated.
The Qatari CG, for his part, stated that Kurdistan had a wealth of human and natural resources, and that companies in the Kurdistan Region and Qatar should work together to utilise and develop them.
Khaylani concluded by thanking the Qatari Consul and wishing him luck in his new role.
