Peshmerga Minister Shoresh Ismail.
The Kurdistan Region's Minister of Peshmerga announced that the Peshmerga has strong ties with the Iraqi defence and International Coalition's forces during the graduation ceremony of the eighth group of Peshmerga forces in Chawarqurna, Sulaymaniyah.
Peshmerga Minister Shoresh Ismail attended the graduation ceremony of the eighth group of Peshmerga forces in Chawarqurna and urged the graduating officers to prioritise the national ideology over the party ideology.
Regarding uniting the Peshmerga forces, he said: "We have overcome most of the problems facing the reform of the Peshmerga forces, but the process will take more time."
"The Peshmerga Ministry maintains a positive relation with the Iraqi Ministry of Defence, and their collaboration with the coalition persists," he stated.
On the same context, Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiar Mohammed, the Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry, also said, in an exclusive interview with PUKMEDIA, that the ongoing reform process in the Peshmerga Ministry persists, and endeavours to consolidate the forces persist as well, despite the fact that the pace of the process falls short of their expectations for a more swift implementation.
