Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani offered congratulations to Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian.

DPM Talabani said in his congratulatory message: "We offer our sincere congratulations to Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as the ninth President of the Islamic Republic of Iran." 

"We hope that the friendly ties between Iraq and Iran, particularly the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, will continue to progress under his leadership," he added.
