Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid offered congratulations to Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian.

"I congratulate the Islamic Republic of Iran on the success of the presidential elections," President Rashid said on X platform.

He added: "My congratulations to Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian on having been elected by the Iranian people. My best wishes as he strives to meet the aspirations and ambitions of the Iranian people. I’ll take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to Iraq-Iran relations and to working together to benefit the citizens of both nations."
