During his visit to the Raparin Administration, Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, formally inaugurated the KV132 Bazian-Ranya electricity power line project.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday, June 10, 2024, was attended by Kamal Mohammad, Minister of Electricity, and Hiwa Qarani, Supervisor of the Raparin Administration.
The KV132 Bazian-Ranya power line is a significant strategic project in the Raparin region. It commenced in 2021 and incurred a cost of approximately 34 billion Iraqi dinars (IQDs).
Not only can the line transport 450 MW of electricity, but it also mitigates the wastage of electricity caused by ageing transmission networks, resulting in a substantial daily reduction in wasted electricity.
