Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, laying the foundation stone for the Qamtaran Corn Drying Factory.
On Sunday (June 9, 2024) Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, visited the Raparin Administration and laid the foundation stone for the Qamtaran Corn Drying Factory.
The Qamtaran Corn Drying Factory Project in the Raparin region is a significant agricultural initiative. It aims to receive corn products from local farmers for the purpose of drying them. This project is expected to have a positive effect on the overall corn production in the region.
The project is set to be finished within a nine-month timeframe and will generate job prospects for young people in the Raparin region. Additionally, it has the capacity to dry 80 tonnes of corn every hour.
Qubad Talabani met with farmers in the area after laying the foundation stone for the project. He listened to their demands and expressed his complete support for them. He emphasised that the development of the agricultural sector is a top priority for the Kurdistan Regional Government. He assured that every effort will be made to enhance the agricultural sector, particularly by focusing on the food industry sector to improve the sale of farmers' products in both local and international markets.
