Darbaz Kosrat: Elections Are Only Way to Protect Kurdistan's Status

Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the Relations Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received Mark Stroh, U.S. Consul General in Erbil.
During the meeting at the Political Bureau's headquarters in Erbil, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul emphasised the significance of the visit made by the delegation led by President of PUK, Bafel Jalal Talabani, to the US.
Darbaz Kosrat Rasul emphasised the unwavering stance of the PUK on the upcoming sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections. He asserted that only via elections can the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region be safeguarded.
The relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, the security and economic conditions in the surrounding region, and the reorganisation of the Peshmerga forces were all topics of discussion during the meeting. Both sides acknowledged that political stability is essential for the security and economic stability of the area, therefore increased coordination and cooperation between the parties is necessary to settle disputes.
