Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani congratulated Christians on the occasion of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Babylonian-Assyrian New Year (Akito).
DPM Talabani's message to the Christians said:
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Christian sisters and brothers in Kurdistan and Iraq on the occasion of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Babylonian-Assyrian New Year (Akito). May your days be filled with joy, peace, and serenity.
Kurdistan has always been and will remain a haven for harmonious coexistence and brotherhood among diverse ethnic and religious groups. Religious and cultural gatherings from many communities provide a significant chance to enhance the spirit of coexistence and brotherhood.
