DPM, Armenian President Emphasize Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas.
The meeting was held on Thursday evening in Erbil. Rebar Ahmad, Minister of Interior; Dara Rashid, Minister of Planning; Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health; and Daban Shadala, Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department, were all in attendance.
Both parties emphasised the importance of the Kurdistan Region-Armenia relationship, with a focus on strengthening and expanding ties in technology, trade, investment, agriculture, health, and higher education. The discussions focused on strengthening connections in these sectors and leveraging Armenia's expertise.
The meeting also addressed the political and security situation in the surrounding area. Both parties recognised that regional instability harms all nations and advocated for a strategy of dialogue, understanding, and peaceful dispute resolution to avoid exacerbating problems.
Relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad were also discussed at the meeting. For the benefit of all Iraqi citizens, the Deputy Prime Minister declared that they would work to resolve the disagreements between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region in conformity with the Constitution.
