Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with a German military delegation led by Colonel Wolf-Alexander Hamp, Commander of the German Forces. The meeting focused on Peshmerga Ministry reforms and other shared concerns.
In a meeting with Benjamin Hanna, Germany's deputy consul general in the Kurdistan Region, and Daban Shadala, deputy head of the foreign relations department of the Kurdistan Regional Government, on Tuesday in Erbil, Talabani thanked Germany for its military assistance to the region.
Talabani also stated, "Terrorism remains a significant threat, and terrorist organisations are looking for ways to regroup and disrupt the region." It is critical that we constantly coordinate and collaborate to eliminate these threats."
They also discussed strategies to advance the reforms of the Ministry of Peshmerga. Talabani stressed the importance of carrying out the reform process as planned until the Kurdistan Region has a strong and trained professional force.
During the meeting, they also discussed the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, the rulings of the Federal Court, and various other matters.
