Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), held several important meetings on the sidelines of the third day of Munich Security Conference (MSC).

PUK President Meets with Former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani had a meeting with former United States (U.S.) Deputy Secretary of State and Boeing Vice President Stephen Biegun during the third day of the MSC.

The meeting emphasized the ongoing coordination and collaboration between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the U.S. to defend mutual interests, combat terrorism, and address security problems.

President Bafel reiterated the PUK's dedication to consolidating political and diplomatic endeavors to uphold political stability in the region and said: "The PUK's activities focus on safeguarding the country from strife. We do not want our territory from being used as a battleground for conflict resolution and the security of our people to be endangered."

In turn, Stephen Biegun respectfully recalled the efforts and steps of President Mam Jalal to maintain unity and security in Iraq and said: "I am pleased that I had the opportunity to meet President Mam Jalal in person and engage in discussions about the political process during my visits to Iraq."

PUK President Meets with Kuwait's Foreign Minister

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani held a meeting with Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya during the third day of the MSC.

The meeting emphasized the importance of enhancing relations and expanding cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Kuwait to uphold stability in the region.

They deliberated on the recent advancements in the Middle East, with President Bafel emphasizing the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the issues, stating: "It is essential to safeguard the sovereignty of countries and adhere to international principles when taking action. All sides have a responsibility to act prudently and avoid escalating tensions."

Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya commended President Mam Jalal for his contribution in upholding stability in Iraq, stating: "Under President Mam Jalal's leadership, relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Kuwait were strengthened. We value the historical significance of this role and are glad that this prudent policy will be upheld by Bafel Jalal Talabani's leadership, and we will provide our support and assistance for this."

PUK President Meets with Diplomatic Advisor to UAE President

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the sidelines of the third day of the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

The meeting focused on coordinating efforts and working together to uphold regional security and tackle security challenges.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani reaffirmed the PUK's determination to deepen relations and expand collaborative cooperation between the two sides in order to benefit greater stability and security, saying: "We support collaborating in the region to address security concerns by making informed decisions and implementing prudent policies due to the delicate nature of the situation."

The meeting also addressed the political and economic situation in the region, highlighting the importance of the continuity of dialogue and mutual understanding among all parties to effectively address and resolve issues.

Views were exchanged on the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and President Bafel highlighted the constructive efforts to achieve positive outcomes and the national agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Baghdad on the basis of the constitution and a genuine partnership that aims to achieve higher goals and provide more services.
