DPM, British Ambassador: The Attacks are Disrupting Stability

During his meeting with British Ambassador Stephen Hitchen, Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani emphasized the importance of resolving any concerns of neighboring countries through peaceful and diplomatic means. He also stated that there is no justification for violating Iraqi and Kurdish sovereignty.
During the meeting held in Erbil on Wednesday, the British Ambassador conveyed his deepest condolences to the Kurdistan Regional Government and Kurdish people in light of the martyrdom of many individuals in the Erbil incident. Both parties agreed that these strikes violate upon the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They acknowledged that such actions do not provide a solution to the problems at hand, but instead contribute to further instability in the surrounding area.
Talabani emphasized the need for both governments to collaborate in order to put an end to the violation upon Iraq's and the Kurdistan Region's sovereignty. Furthermore, he advocated for the implementation of all necessary measures to address these issues through dialogue and diplomatic means.
Qubad Talabani Requests EU to offer greater support to Kurdistan
Today, Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani held a meeting with Torkild Byg, the European Union Representative in the Kurdistan Region, to discuss several matters of shared concern.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, in Erbil, deliberated on strategies for generating employment opportunities for the youth in the Kurdistan Region. In this regard, particular focus was placed on strengthening small business projects, particularly those initiated by young individuals.
Talabani urged the European Union to offer greater support to the Kurdistan Region, specifically in terms of sharing the expertise of European nations in advancing small businesses.
During the meeting, they also discussed the Smart Suli Platform and the upcoming Sulaymaniyah International Forum for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which will be held on November 25 in Sulaymaniyah.
Both parties agreed that the Smart Suli Platform is an important initiative for addressing governance challenges by actively involving citizens in problem-solving. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the EU's assistance in developing the platform.
The Deputy Prime Minister established the Smart Suli Platform as an innovative initiative to address city problems by actively engaging residents and professionals in the identification of innovative approaches and advancements across multiple domains. The project's goal is to improve the quality of services provided to citizens as well as the Kurdistan Region's administrative and governance systems.
