Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister, met with a
senior delegation of international coalition forces led by Joel B. Vowell,

discuss the security situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the region.
The meeting was held in Erbil on Tuesday evening and was attended by Shorsh
Ismail, the Minister of Peshmerga, Daban Shadala, the Deputy Head of the
Kurdistan Regional Government's Foreign Relations Department, and the US Consul
General in Kurdistan. Following a discussion of recent security developments in
the area, both parties agreed on the importance of coordination and
collaboration among Peshmerga forces, Iraqi troops, and allies in maintaining
stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Another part of the meeting focused on the threats posed by terrorist
organizations. It was noted that rising tensions and instability create
favorable conditions for the movement of these groups. Thus, it was emphasized
that political parties must consider the situation's sensitivity and pursue a
prudent policy that avoids any actions jeopardizing Iraq's and the region's
stability.
The meeting also discussed reforms to the Peshmerga Ministry. In this regard,
the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of continuing the ongoing
reform process within the Peshmerga forces per the established plan.
