Deputy PM Qubad Talabani.
Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani congratulated the citizens of Kurdistan on the occasion of the arrival of the New Year.
Qubad Talabani's message for the New Year said:
On the occasion of the New Year, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all citizens of Kurdistan and express my wishes for a joyful and prosperous year ahead.
Despite the successful outcome of the provincial council elections in 2023, the persistent issues over budget and salary have placed a significant burden on employees, salaried individuals, and citizens of the Kurdistan Region.
Over the past few months, we have been seeking to address this matter with the federal government. We are persistently working towards a resolution and hope for finalizing it early in the upcoming year.
To address the conflicts between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, ensure the stability of our nation, and mitigate potential threats and risks, it is imperative to foster collaboration, solidarity, and resolve internal matters. In 2024, we urge everyone to demonstrate national responsibility and strengthen unity and cooperation in order to effectively address internal challenges. By fostering national unity and consensus, we can eliminate threats and risks to our country and create a conducive environment for enhancing public services and improving the well-being of our citizens.
