President Rashid & Spanish Prime Minister Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Relations

President Rashid & Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez
President of the Republic of Iraq Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez at Baghdad Palace on Thursday.
During the meeting, which was attended by Iraq’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, they discussed the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Spain.
President Rashid emphasized Iraq's eagerness to strengthen relations with Spain, particularly in economy, environment, culture, agriculture, investment, and renewable energy technologies.
"With the prevailing security and stability, Iraq welcomes contributions from Spanish companies and businessmen in a wide range of fields, including construction, as well as providing expertise in achieving comprehensive development, coordination, and cooperation on combatting terrorism and extremism, improving health, education, and service conditions, and rehabilitating infrastructure, improving health, education, and service conditions," he stated.
Recent developments in politics and security-related regional and international matters, as well as Iraq's tireless efforts to promote regional peace, security, and stability, were also covered.
President Rashid reaffirmed Iraq's support for the Palestinian people as they pursue their legitimate rights.
Moreover, he emphasized the need to stop the military aggression and bombing of the Gaza Strip as well as other Palestinian cities and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
While ensuring his country's readiness for further development of bilateral cooperation and relations with Iraq, the Spanish Prime Minister lauded Iraq's crucial role and tireless efforts to bring together the views of the nations in the region.
