The Iraqi political leaders were among those invited to today's (Wednesday) fifth Congress of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). Following are the speeches of the leaders of the Al-Hikma Movement, the Victory Alliance, the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, and the Azim Alliance, respectively.

Ammar al-Hakim's speech:

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the Leader of the Al-Hikma Movement, said in a speech at the fifth congress of the PUK: "We extend our good wishes to the PUK for a successful congress and hope that they will continue to work hard to serve the people because the PUK has a proud history and has made many sacrifices for it. I wish a bright future for the PUK and the entire region so that we can build a strong country."

"Mam Jalal's political philosophy contributed to the continuation of democracy and the maintenance of Iraq's independence. Mam Jalal served as the leader of all Iraqis, was the brother of all leaders, fought ceaselessly for peace and stability, and set a remarkable example. He was the true guardian of Iraq's security," he added.

In this congress, try to organize your views in the interest of the Kurdish and Iraqi people. We have high hopes for the PUK leaders, starting with President Bafel, so that they can do more for cooperation and move forward. We expect the PUK and its leaders to promote unity and solidarity among the parties in the region and Iraq, to move forward in concert, and to share political labor for the benefit of the citizens. We must respect the blood of our martyrs, who gave their lives for this land. Baghdad cannot be powerful if Kurdistan is not strong and united.

Haidar al-Abadi's speech:

Haidar al-Abadi, the Leader of the Victory Alliance, said in his speech: "I would like to congratulate you on your fifth congress and wish you luck. I also hope that the PUK will continue on its historic and national course to advance national objectives and interests so that we may create a developed and cohesive country."

"Each political party in Iraq must have a distinct ideology that is aligned with the country's development objectives in order to effectively address the multitude of problems we face," he added.

Qais Khazaali's speech:

Qais Khaazali, Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl Al-Haq Movement, said in his speech at PUK's fifth Congress: "This is my first visit to the Kurdistan Region. Having the opportunity to attend the PUK's Fifth Congress on this significant occasion makes me very glad and proud. I wish all PUK cadres success."

He declared, "The Kurds like peace and would never engage in conflict against other parties, but they will defend their rights and security. We are firmly committed to ushering in a new era that may bring about stability, peace, and benefit for all citizens."

He added: "We will not allow tensions in Iraq, and we will never accept more delays in the salaries of the Kurdistan Region, so this is unacceptable; we must find a solution, and we, as political leaders, are responsible for this issue and trouble."

Muthanna al-Samarrai's speech:

Muthanna al-Samarrai, Leader of the Alliance,  said in his speech at the UK's fifth Congress: "I congratulate the PUK on this congress and wish you further success and advancement. We wish you continued peace and stability and hope you can continue to work for the objectives you have always defended."

Samarrai stated that the current influential factor pertains to the perspectives of President Mam Jalal, a prominent figure who consistently advocated for education, equality, and nationwide development within the context of federal interests.

To effectively serve our citizens in the future, it is essential to have a comprehensive plan, he continued. "We have confidence in your ability to achieve your goals and make prudent decisions along the way."

"There must be a plan for the future to work for our citizens, and we sincerely hope you can achieve your goals and make good decisions. In Iraq, we all have responsibilities towards our citizens," he added.

"Iraq has successfully navigated numerous financial and terrorist crises in the past. To safeguard democracy in Iraq, it is imperative that we collectively confront the existing challenges," he said.

"Through parties with long histories, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, we can govern effectively by adhering to the constitution and the law." This commitment to openness will allow us to better serve the needs of our citizens and address pressing issues, he added.
