PUK Congress Spokesperson: 260 Congress Members Will Be Elected Today

The conference of PUK's headquarters and bureaus
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)
offices and headquarters are currently in the midst of a conference. The
upcoming fifth PUK Congress will have 260 representatives chosen from among a
pool of 3,274 voters.
According to Talar Latif, the
Spokesperson of PUK's fifth Congress to PUKMEDIA, "At today's conference
of the headquarters and bureaus, the members of the Congress will be
democratically chosen, and the process will continue until 4 p.m."
According to Talar Latif, "2,495
members at headquarters are eligible to vote and elect 175 members of Congress,
and 779 members at the bureau are eligible to vote and elect 85 members of
Congress."
Stran Abdullah, Head of PUK's Media
Bureau, told DGK, "The upcoming PUK congress is set to take place at the
Hunar Hall in Sulaymaniyah. Following President Mam Jalal's precedent, a large
number of guests will be invited on the first day. In the following days,
Congress will continue with its sessions."
The upcoming fifth PUK congress is
scheduled to take place on September 27 in Sulaymaniyah. The conference
proceedings will begin today, September 21st, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
through a democratic process.
