KRG delegation in Baghdad
A top Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) delegation is in Baghdad to discuss the Region's budget and share, and they met with Iraqi President Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani and Iraqi parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi and some other representatives from political parties.
KRG delegation is in Baghdad to discuss the budgetAccording to Deputy Prime Minister's Spokesman Samir Hawrami, the delegation consists of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, DPM Qubad Talabani, Finance Minister Awat Janab Nuri, Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed, President of the Diwan of Council of Ministers Omed Sabah, KRG Cabinet Secretary Amanj Rahim.
"The delegation went to Baghdad to settle the budget issue and the problems between Erbil and Baghdad," he added.
Al-Sudani: We want to settle the problemsThe meeting between the top delegation and the Iraqi prime minister, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi prime minister's media office, emphasized the significance of resolving legal and financial issues between the federal government and the KRG in accordance with the Constitution and law.
Moreover, Prime Minister al-Sudani emphasized that the current government works to enhance long-term stability away from disputes, and he emphasized the government's seriousness in finding a radical approach to deal with the Kurdistan Region.
The government has labored and continues to work to guarantee that legal and administrative issues do not interfere with the requirements of Iraqi residents, including Kurdish citizens, according to the statement.
Iraqi President supports the KRG delegationThe KRG delegation also met with Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid in Baghdad on Wednesday. According to Iraqi Presidency's media office, "The meeting discussed how to strengthen relations between the KRG and the federal government. President Rashid expressed confidence in both parties' commitment to resolving all remaining concerns in accordance with the Constitution and law in a manner that reflects the country's security and stability."
President Rashid affirmed his commitment to supporting the KRG delegation as a joint and unified team. "It is important for all levels of government and political parties to work together to expedite the payment of salaries to employees in the Kurdistan Region," he added.
As part of his remarks, President Rashid highlighted the importance of resolving the issues and crises in Kirkuk Governorate. In addition, he expressed the importance of the commitment to implement administrative changes made in accordance with the political agreement reached during the recent meeting of the State Administration Coalition.
Al-Halbousi places a strong emphasis on ensuring employees' salariesThe KRG delegation met with Mohammed al-Halbousi, the Speaker of the Iraqi parliament, to address the political climate in the country as well as financial and legal matters involving the federal government and the KRG. They emphasized the significance of finding solutions and guaranteeing employee wages across the entire country.
The delegation also met with Khamis Khanjar, Leader of the Siyada Coalition, Ayad Allawi, Leader of the National Coalition, Haider al-Abadi, Leader of the Victory Alliance, and Ammar al-Hakim, Leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Nuri al-Maliki, Leader of the State of Law Coalition, Falih Al-Fayyadh, the Chairman of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and Qais al-Khazzali, Secretary General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement.
